At a focus group with the Safeguarding Governors, pupils commented on feeling less safe after school, particularly in winter when it is darker earlier, and they are coming out of clubs or activities at a later time.
Outcome
– For next academic year, the Pastoral Team will develop the Darker Nights guidance that is shared with Lower Years pupils each October to become relevant to Middle Years and Sixth Form pupils. This contains personal safety advice.
– Pupils will also be reminded of the after school options to reach a member of staff, with School Reception and School Library open until 6pm and a member of the Senior Leadership Team on duty each evening until 6pm as well.
